As part of its long-term commitment to conservation, research, and public access, the National Library of Norway continuously seeks to enhance its technical capabilities through the adoption of advanced analytical tools.To support the non-invasive examination and characterization of historical materials, the Library intends to acquire a high-resolution spectroscopic system suitable for both laboratory use and field work. Such an instrument will enable the analysis of a wide range of materials - including paper, parchment, inks, pigments, bindings, textiles, photographic materials and other organic and inorganic substances - across the visible, near-and- deep infrared spectral regions.
