Environmental Health Indicators Programme
Ministry of Health
The Public Health Agency (PHA) and Mental Health Group (MHG), a business unit within the Ministry of Health / Manatū Hauora (MoH), is responsible for leading public and population health strategy, policy, regulation, intelligence, evaluation, and monitoring functions. The Environmental Health Indicators (EHI) programme, commissioned by the MoH to support these functions, delivers nationally consistent monitoring and reporting on environmental determinants of health across New Zealand. This programme underpins evidence-based policy, regulatory oversight, and public health decision-making at central and local government levels. The Ministry of Health and the National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand (HNZ) are the primary government recipients of these services. The MoH is releasing this Advance Notice through the Government Electronic Tender Service (GETS) to advise that it intends to undertake a procurement process in the near future to identify and engage a preferred supplier to deliver the Environmental Health Indicators programme to provide enduring, decision-relevant information on health impacts associated with environmental health risks in New Zealand. The procurement process is expected to be a single-stage, open Request for Proposals (RFP). Subject to internal approvals, the RFP is likely to be released in late May 2026. The opportunity will be advertised on GETS. No information is being requested at this time. However, by subscribing to this notice on GETS, you will automatically be notified when the RFP is released. Further communications specific to this procurement notice will also be managed via GETS.
