During the preparation of the last Ten Year Property Plan, specialist condition assessment surveys identified the need for several roofing improvements to various buildings across the school including roof coverings, flashings and spouting renewal. Non trafficable roof sheets are also to be removed and replaced with an appropriate trafficable and heavy duty translucent roofing product. In some areas timber cladding will require removal, reinstatement and repainting following the installation of new apron flashings.

Main Building/Fencing Contractor for LSM Fencing & Gates at Eketahuna School

The Contract Works required are: Install new 1.8m high aluminium fencing with mowing strip. No foot holes, steps or horizontal bars that facilitate climbing (distance between structural horizontal beams to be at least 1200mm apart) or structures within 1m of the fence that facilitate climbing. Fence work reaches down to the ground leaving no gaps (maximum 100mm) Minimum height 1800mm with no exposed points at the top. Gates with safety latches situated approximately 1600mm from the ground level or high. Gates to be fitted with auto-closing mechanisms. New concrete vehicle crossing & footpath to be installed. Note:- works are to be priced by issue - refer to quotation form attached. All works can be combined on the tender summary sheet. Suppliers are required to describe how their proposed approach will deliver economic benefits to New Zealand, including (but not limited to): Use of local labour for the delivery of the bathroom modification works. Engagement of New Zealand–based subcontractors and trades, including small and medium enterprises where appropriate. Supporting regional employment by sourcing workers from the local area where possible. Use of locally supplied materials where suitable and feasible. Suppliers should provide clear, practical examples of how they will demonstrate these benefits during contract delivery. All work to comply with manufacturer’s specifications and recommendations. All tender documentation and necessary information attached. Contractors MUST visit site for tender to be compliant. Contact the noted representative in Invite Letter to arrange a site visit. Ideally dependent on MoE funding approval this work would start as soon as possible after confirmation provided, however this will be discussed with the successful contractor and school once funding approvals are confirmed. Tender Summary – Specialised Teaching Space Fit‑out 2.1 Background The existing teaching kitchen space has been assessed as no longer fit for purpose and presents both functional and safety challenges for effective teaching delivery. Current issues include insufficient space, fragmented room layout preventing effective supervision, and the absence of a dedicated teacher demonstration area. Several health and safety concerns have also been identified, particularly around unsafe appliance use due to limited bench space, poorly positioned power outlets, raised ovens with unsuitable work surfaces, and appliances being required to operate too close to water sources. The lack of seating within the kitchen space also limits effective use of teaching time, with students leaving the area during downtime. The project is being delivered with the following consultants: 2.2 Required Solution (Contract Works) The Contract Works seek to deliver a fully integrated, safe, and flexible teaching environment capable of supporting both practical and theory-based learning.
