Call for National External Collaborator – Assessment of climate-related risks affecting occupational safety and health, working conditions, and enterprise resilience in Ethiopia’s textile, garment, and leather sector.
ILO
Dear Bidder, The International Labour Office (ILO) is seeking an individual to serve as an External Collaborator. Below is a summary of the work to be performed: The assignment will conduct a rapid assessment of climate-related risks, including heat stress and environmental challenges, affecting occupational safety and health (OSH), working conditions, and productivity in Ethiopia’s textile, garment, and leather sector. It will analyse how these risks influence workers’ health, enterprise resilience, decent work outcomes and a just transition, taking into account variations in production processes and workplace environments. The work will combine desk review of existing evidence, analysis of SCORE baseline data from 40 factories, and stakeholder consultations with government, employers’ and workers’ organizations, industry actors, and, where relevant, selected community-level perspectives based on existing evidence. The assessment will identify key risks, gaps, and challenges in current practices, and provide actionable recommendations to strengthen climate-responsive OSH, workplace risk management, and sustainable production practices, with practical relevance for project interventions and policy dialogue. If you are interested, please express interest and follow the instructions attached to consult the detailed terms of reference and other relevant information on the ILO e-sourcing platform. Please submit your proposal before the specified deadline. Thank you.
